About the Role
This is an entry level position designed to give you a structured and supported introduction to the world of accounting. As an apprentice at Root2Growth, you will work alongside experienced members of the team, picking up practical skills in a real practice environment while studying towards your AAT Level 2 qualification.
Your time will be split between working in the office and completing your apprenticeship studies, with full support from the team throughout. You will not be left to figure things out on your own. We will invest time in your development from day one.
Day to Day Responsibilities
As you settle in and grow in confidence, your day to day work is likely to include assisting with the preparation of bookkeeping records for clients, helping to process and reconcile financial transactions, supporting the team with data entry and the maintenance of client records, learning to use accounting software under the guidance of senior team members, and handling general administrative tasks that keep the practice running smoothly.
Working Hours
This is a full time role, typically working Monday to Friday during normal office hours. Specific hours will be confirmed at offer stage.
Salary
To be confirmed, in line with the National Minimum Wage for apprentices and reviewed as you progress through your qualification.

What We Are Looking For
We are honest about something from the start: we can teach accounting. What we cannot teach is the right attitude, and that is what matters most to us.
We are looking for someone who shows up, pays attention, and genuinely wants to do a good job. If you are curious, dependable, and willing to work hard, we want to hear from you. Prior knowledge of accounting is not expected or required.
The Basics
To qualify for the AAT Level 2 apprenticeship programme, you will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths. You must also be aged 16 or over, have the right to work in the UK, and not be in full-time education at the time of starting.
If you meet those criteria, the rest is about you as a person.

We work with our clients day to day on everything from bookkeeping and tax returns through to helping them plan and grow their businesses with confidence.
